ISO 19902 Connections (2020)

ISO 19902:2020 specifies requirements and recommendations for fixed steel offshore structures in the petroleum and natural gas industries, including jackets, towers, caissons, and related bottom-founded structures. The planned SDC Verifier support focuses on connection checks relevant to tubular offshore structural systems. 

Target verification scope 

• Connection checks for supported tubular offshore joints and member arrangements. 

• Use of chord, brace, joint geometry, material properties, and governing design actions required by the code. 

• Code-specific resistance and interaction assessment within the released scope. 

• Traceable calculation output for design review and reporting. 

Planned workflow in SDC Verifier 

The intended workflow is to define or recognize supported joint geometry, connect the design actions from the FEA model, review governing connection utilization, and export the result with the relevant code inputs. Supported joint types and load combinations will be finalized at release.
