Verified Steel Design According to AISC 360-10

Streamline your member checks with SDC Verifier’s implementation of the AISC 360-10 standard. Validate tension, compression, bending, shear, and combined loading — fully compliant with LRFD and ASD methodologies.

About Standard

AISC 360-10 is the 14th edition of the “Specification for Structural Steel Buildings,” published by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) in June 2010. It provides a unified approach to both Allowable Strength Design (ASD) and Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD).

This standard covers:

  • Tension and Compression Checks (Chapters D and E), including torsional and flexural-torsional buckling
  • Bending (Chapter F), Shear (Chapter G), and Combined Forces (Chapter H)
  • Design of doubly symmetric I-beams, singly symmetric channels, T-shapes, circular and rectangular tubes, bars

SDC Verifier automates member checks according to AISC 360-10, including:

  • Optional inclusion of torsion checks
  • Automated member recognition and stiffener spacing detection
  • Support for custom Cb values and second-order effects
  • Integration with API RP 2A-LRFD for tubular elements

All calculations follow the standard’s specifications and can be traced in detailed reports directly from your FEA model.
