About Standard

API RP 2A-WSD (21st edition, October 2007) is a recommended practice by the American Petroleum Institute for the working stress design (WSD) of fixed offshore platforms. The standard provides well-established engineering principles for the design of tubular members subjected to axial, bending, and shear forces, as well as guidance for evaluating tubular joints.

This standard is implemented in SDC Verifier with support for:

  • Cylindrical members only
  • Member checks under tension, compression, bending, shear, or hydrostatic pressure
  • Joint checks based on chord-brace interactions

SDC Verifier allows engineers to apply this standard with automation of:
