In Progress
Planned verification of plate buckling in floating production structures according to the ABS Rules for Building and Classing Floating Production Installations.
The ABS Rules for Building and Classing Floating Production Installations provide requirements for the design and classification of floating production units and related offshore structures. Plate buckling verification is relevant where plated panels, stiffened plating, and supporting structure must resist compressive, shear, and pressure-driven actions without instability.
Target verification scope
Planned workflow in SDC Verifier
The intended workflow is to identify applicable plate regions in the FEA model, map the required stresses and load effects to the check, review governing utilization, and include the result in the SDC report. The supported plate types, load cases, and calculation options will be confirmed at release.
Availability
Development work is underway. The final verification scope, supported geometry, and release timing will be confirmed before this check becomes available.
Work directly within Ansys, Femap, or Simcenter 3D without switching platforms.
Perform code checks with built-in support for ABS, AISC, Eurocode, API, and more.
Detect overstressed areas and refine your design with data-driven decisions.
Generate customizable, fully traceable reports with all calculations and references.
