Strength verification of tubular connections according to Section E of API RP 2A-LRFD
The API RP 2A-LRFD Connections (1st, 1993) implementation in SDC Verifier verifies the strength of tubular connections according to Section E of the standard. It evaluates recognized chords and braces directly in the FEA workflow, including checks for axial force, bending moment, and their interaction at the joint level.
Using Connection Finder, SDC Verifier automatically identifies supported connection geometry and extracts the chord and brace parameters required for calculation. The implementation uses defined yield and tensile material properties and applies the relevant connection equations inside the model workflow instead of moving the verification into separate manual calculations.
What this implementation checks
Work directly within Ansys, Femap, or Simcenter 3D without switching platforms.
Instantly identify beams, plates, welds, and joints in your FEA model.
Perform code checks with built-in support for ABS, AISC, Eurocode, API, and more.
Detect overstressed areas and refine your design with data-driven decisions.
Generate customizable, fully traceable reports with all calculations and references.
