EN 13001 Weld Strength (2025)

Planned weld-strength verification for crane steel structures according to EN 13001-3-1:2025.

About Standard

EN 13001-3-1 sets design requirements for the steel structures of cranes. The planned weld-strength support is intended for crane components where welded force transfer must be assessed against the applicable static design conditions and code requirements.

Target verification scope

  • Weld-strength checks for supported crane-structure weld details.
  • Use of weld geometry, material data, and applicable model-derived design actions.
  • Code-aligned static strength verification within the released detail scope.
  • Report output for review of governing assumptions and utilization.

Planned workflow in SDC Verifier

The intended workflow is to select supported welded regions, define detail data, map FEA results to the required design actions, and review the check in the report. Final weld detail coverage will be confirmed at release.

Availability

This check is on the SDC Verifier roadmap. The final weld-detail catalogue, workflow, and release timing have not yet been finalized.
