FKM Fatigue (7th Edition, 2020)

Planned fatigue-strength assessment for mechanical components according to the FKM Guideline, 7th Edition.

About Standard

The FKM Guideline provides an analytical framework for strength assessment of mechanical components. Its fatigue methodology is used to assess components exposed to cyclic loading while accounting for relevant material, geometry, load, and stress effects within the applicable guideline scope.

Target verification scope

  • Fatigue-strength assessment for supported component types and materials.
  • Use of FEA stress results together with required material and load-data inputs.
  • Support for the released fatigue assessment methods and load definitions.
  • Report output that makes the selected methodology and governing result reviewable.

Planned workflow in SDC Verifier

The intended workflow is to select supported model regions, assign the relevant material and fatigue inputs, map stress results and load histories to the calculation, and review the governing assessment. Exact methods, materials, and load handling will be confirmed at release.

Availability

This check is on the SDC Verifier roadmap. The final fatigue methods, supported materials, and release timing have not yet been finalized.
