ISO 19902 (2nd, 2020)

The second edition of ISO 19902, published in 2020, refines and expands structural verification methods for tubular members used in fixed offshore structures. It supersedes the 2007 edition and includes key amendments for modern offshore conditions.

Scope of Application:

• Petroleum and natural gas industries
• Applicable to cylindrical members with:
  • Thickness ≥ 6 mm
  • D/t ≤ 0.2 × E / fy
  • Yield strength ≤ 800 MPa

Implemented Checks in SDC Verifier:

• Tubular Member Strength Verification using Beam Member Finder
• Hydrostatic Load Handling with editable sea depth, wave velocity, and still water level inputs
• Support for Capped-End Actions and tubular length adjustments via stiffeners

Extended Features:

This implementation supports automated assessment of offshore jackets, caissons, mono towers, and related fixed structures across Ansys Mechanical, Femap, and Simcenter 3D environments.
