NORSOK N-004 Members (2022)

NORSOK N-004 provides design requirements for offshore structures. The planned SDC Verifier support is intended for relevant offshore steel members, including supported tubular member configurations where axial force, bending, shear, and combined actions need to be verified against the code framework. 

Target verification scope 

• Member checks for supported offshore steel and tubular sections. 
• Use of section properties, material data, and applicable design actions from the FEA model. 
• Code-aligned resistance and interaction verification within the released scope. 
• Report output for review of governing utilization and the calculation basis. 

Planned workflow in SDC Verifier 

The intended workflow is to recognize or define supported member sections, map model forces to the code inputs, review the governing result, and export the check with its assumptions. Final member catalogue and scope will be confirmed at release. 

Availability 

This check is on the SDC Verifier roadmap. The final member types, check combinations, and release timing have not yet been finalized.
